Hilot Binabaylan
(Filipino Indigenous Medicine)

Hilot is an act of love. It is an ancient healing art  that follows the spiritual, animistic,  shamanic traditions of Filipinos in pre-colonial times. 

 

Hilot is not only about physical relief,  it is about restoring balance within the person and their world.​ The healing can involve prayers, herbs, incantations, spiritual rituals, drumming and bodywork. The method of tawas sa papel involves the fire element and used for spiritual diagnosis/divination that combines paper, candle, and oil. Suob is a cleansing ritual that can be done in wet or dry forms with herbs to cleanse energy.

Lorilyn Caballeros also called Dayang Tarung Dangal (blessed with the virtues of honor and justice) is trained and ordained by Rev. Apu Adman in Hilot Academy of Binabaylan. She is also taught by Rev. Lakan Danny Morales and Kumu Darcie Pulawan-Morales in Bahay Hilom located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
